May 1st ‘Impact Through Empathy’ Event

On May 1st, 2024, ESSA Bank & Trust held its fourth in-person event to gather with their community partners. ESSA representatives shared in their common goals and how they can achieve them together.

Many conversations were held that allowed attendees to see the personal connections and ties to the community upon which the bank prides itself, including ESSA’s unique loan programs. ESSA’s program for first time homeowners, for instance, includes discounted interest rates, reduced private mortgage insurance premiums, and no bank fees for borrowers seeking financing for homes within their lending service area.

In the Community First Loan Program, borrowers for homes in designated majority-minority or low-income neighborhoods can take advantage of this program for purchase money, home improvement or rate-term refinance transactions.

Finally, ESSA’s Loan Subsidy Fund provides easy-to-access down payment and closing cost assistance to primary-residence borrowers within qualifying majority-minority neighborhoods, with up to $18,000 lender credit available for closing cost and/or down payment assistance.

“Thank you to everyone for your support in making this event possible,” said Nicole Gailliard, Community Development Officer and coordinator of the event. “It is always rewarding to meet face-to-face with our partners in the community and share our common goals.”
